Which airport should I use for my New York private jet charter?

New York City features six (6) major airports that residents, tourists and business travelers will typically utilize, depending where in the city or metro area they are headed.

For the majority of Manhattan, the most common airport used is Teterboro (TEB), which is about 20-30min away from Manhattan’s west side across the Hudson River in New Jersey. With many private FBO services and hundreds of aircraft landing and departing each week, Teterboro is easily the most heavily trafficked airport servicing private charter flights to/from New York.

Another choice for some flyers is Westchester Airport (HPN) located just north of Manhattan in White Plains, NY. For residents of Westchester County or Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Westchester Airport is often the clear choice.

Residents of Long Island returning home to NYC can avoid major airports like JFK International (JFK) and Laguardia (LGA) by chartering an aircraft directly to Republic Airport (FRG) or Islip (ISP).

Are there increased wait times or added security measures when flying private to/from New York?

Wait times can be a factor in New York, but only in terms of runway traffic. At extremely busy times (major events, peak holidays) there may be minor traffic delays in getting aircraft off the ground safely. Waiting areas are comfortable and delays can typically be communicated in advance.

Security measures are no different than anywhere else, and with an evoJets private jet charter your TSA checks are always done in advance, avoiding screening delays when you arrive at the airport. There are never any lines to wait on, either!
