The Astra SP’s cabin is roomy due to the rectangular shape of the fuselage. It also employs a low swept wing, twin AlliedSignal TFE 731-3C-200G turbofans, and a swept tailfin with low-mounted horizontal stabilizer. These upgraded aerodynamic features increased the Astra SP’s range and its hot and high climb limit of those of the original Astra. The SP also has an enhanced EFIS avionics suite.
