With the success of the Citation I, Cessna decided to create the Citation II, a similar jet with room for more passengers. Many years after its initial production, the Citation II and S/II are staple aircraft in the retail charter market today, offering great value in the light jet class.

The new, longer model allowed for eight in the cabin, while the S/P (or single pilot) version could hold one more passenger in the cockpit, carrying nine total. Many of the II and S/II models are configured for 8 full passenger seats and serve as comfortable 7-8 passenger shuttle flight options.

The Citation II was also designed with more powerful engines and higher fuel capacity, giving the aircraft more power and range. The wing span was also lengthened and the luggage compartments expanded. The wings were further redesigned later in the model’s life to maintain its previous stability in the straight wing design and also to reduce drag.
