Premier 1 - Description

The roomy cabin of the Premier 1 can hold six passengers in four fully adjustable club seats and two rear fixed seats. A seventh passenger can ride in the cockpit, as the aircraft is certificated for single pilot operation. The cabin has heating, air conditioning, and a noise reduction upgrade, and is accessible by way of airstairs on the port side. Other features include down-wash lighting, a private aft lavatory, and fold-out tables.

The Premier 1 was initially designed by Raytheon Aircraft –now part of Hawker Beechcraft—as a light business jet with an advanced composite fuselage, rather than an aluminum airframe. It is constructed of a graphite/epoxy laminate and a honeycomb composite, and thus does not require ribs and stringers. The resulting aircraft is much lighter and stronger, and has extra space in the cabin.The Premier 1 runs on twin rear-mounted Williams/Rolls-Royce FJ44-2A turbofan engines. The tail and low wings are of swept back design and are protected from icing by an anti-icing system employing engine air bleed and electromagnetic expulsion de-icing (EMNEDI). The Premier 1 flight deck includes a Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 Electronic Flight Information System (EFIS).
