While Baker, CA, may seem far away in the southern end of Death Valley, evoJets puts this unique tourist town right in your backyard. Located between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Baker is home to the "World's Tallest Thermometer" which stands 134 feet tall and commemorates the hottest temperature ever recorded in the United States - 134 degrees Fahrenheit during the year 1913.
Aside from being about 90 miles southwest of Las Vegas, Baker has a few unique attractions of its own. For many, it is an embarkation point for Death Valley National Park to the north, and the Mojave National Preserve to the south.
Nearby are large sand dunes which make up the Dumont Dunes Off-Highway Vehicle Area, a recreational area popular for off-road vehicle sports, hiking, camping, and rock-climbing.
Baker Airport (0O2) - is the town's small public airport with a single runway and no fixed base operators or facilities. It is located about two miles northwest of Baker's central business district. Due to the airport's minimal activity, arriving flights will rarely have to wait to land. |
