Legacy 500 - Description |
|
The Embraer Legacy 500 is the bigger, faster, and longer-range version of the Legacy 450. They were launched at the same time in 2008, and are both still in development. These aircraft are corporate/executive upgrades of the ERJ-135 and ERJ-145 commercial regional jetliners.
The cabin of the 500, which will seat 8 to 12 passengers, is set to have the same height and width-6 ft and 6 ft 10 in, respectively-as the 450. But it will have an extra 4 ft 4 in of length, bringing it to 26 ft 8 in total. They share an overall baggage capacity of 150 cubic ft, 40 of which is accessible during flight. Like the 450, amenities on board the 500 may include wireless high-speed internet, Airshow systems, DVD, telephone and fax capabilities, meeting tables, and individual workstations at some seats.
The 500 adds a longer-range option to the arsenal of the midsize Legacy jets, with a maximum range of 3450 miles. It can also reach a maximum speed of 632 mph, thanks to its two Honeywell HTF7500E engines.
In the cockpit, the 500 utilizes the same avionics equipment as the 450: the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion flight deck, which is designed especially for flight crew comfort and usability, as well as the aircraft's overall safety. |
