Gulfstream Raises the Bar – Introducing the G280 & G650

April 9th, 2013 by

In an industry marked by cutting edge technology, boasting 60-million-dollar products, it is often difficult to introduce something new and exciting to the market. This year Gulfstream has done just that, and did it twice, with the all new G280 and G650. These aircraft will set yet another industry standard by the US-based leader in business aviation.

In 2005, Gulfstream began developing a replacement for the G200, which resulted in the new G280. Gulfstream set a goal for the G280 to provide a travel experience for groups of 4-10 passengers similar to that of a larger aircraft such as the G550. This Super Mid is now the fastest of its kind, capable of reaching some of the most remote airports in the world with its best-in-class range.

The New G650 is an industry leader in technology for performance, efficiency and in flight comfort. For example, the aircraft has an interior that can be controlled through a tablet or smartphone. Passengers can adjust interior temperature, amount of light coming into the cabin through the electronically controlled window tinting system, and each one of the 10+ multimedia screens without leaving their seat.

Building on their reputation as industry leaders in business aviation, Gulfstream’s release of the G280 and G650 raise yet another bar in all aspects of private travel.

Priorities for the Private Jet Traveller

November 27th, 2012 by

Everyone has different needs and priorities when it comes to their travel. Families with young children travelling to Aspen will have very different needs than a business executive flying to New York for a conference. Before you decide which on-demand private jet charter service provider is right for you, be sure to have a very clear understanding of what YOUR unique needs and priorities are.
Most private jet travelers fall into at least two of the following three categories when it comes to their priorities; Safety, Convenience, and Value.

  • If Safety is your number one priority (and it should be!) than you need to be sure you are working with a company that has very stringent and transparent safety standards. At a minimum, the aircraft that you are flying should have an “ARGUS Gold” safety rating and the company should be able to communicate this to you with documentation.
  • If convenience is one of your top priorities than there are several minimums as it relates to service that you should look for. Number one, you should have one single point of contact that is available to you 24/7/365 day or night. Number two, you want to be sure that you are working with a company that has a stellar reputation in terms of consistency and reliability. Look for awards and recognition from the general community.
  • Last but not least is Value. Virtually everyone wants to know that they are getting a good deal relative to what the market is offering. Our definition of value is getting the best possible price available in the marketplace without sacrificing safety and quality in any way. But a lot of companies say this – How do you know that you are really getting a fair price? This comes down to one thing, TRUST. Finding a company and a flight specialist that you can trust and that can consistently and transparently communicate how and why they are creating value for you is key!

One thing you should do is write down your needs so you can convey these to the charter service. One of the advantages of using a charter service like evoJets is that it is 100% flexible and completely adaptable.

  1. Do you have specific concerns?
  2. Is space to conduct business highly important?
  3. Are the meals important?
  4. Are you bringing pets onboard?
  5. Do you have a baby or small child?
  6. Do you have unusually large and bulky luggage like skis and boots?
  7. Do you require a wheelchair friendly aircraft?
  8. Is having an enclosed lavatory a priority for you?
  9. Do you have an ideal departure and arrival time?

These are the kinds of questions that you will need to consider and that a good Charter Flight Coordinator will want to discuss with you. A charter service is like a hotel concierge – looking to make your stay on the flight as enjoyable as possible and catering to your needs. But if you have any specific requests, you should let these be known ahead of time so they are addressed and be sure that you communicate to your point of contact exactly what your Flight Priorities are and what exactly it is you are trying to accomplish.

evoJets Luxury Spotlight – Houston

September 28th, 2012 by

They say everything’s bigger in Texas and in Houston, the burgeoning luxury scene is no exception. Charter a private jet to Houston and discover how this modern bastion of classic southern charm is making a push into the elite travel arena.

Luxury Shopping

According to Travel & Leisure’s 2011 America’s Favorite Cities survey, Houston ranks #4 in the Luxury Shopping category, behind only New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. That’s pretty good company.

Check out boutiques like 310 Rosemont in the River Oaks shopping center for designer jeans and swanky cocktail dresses, and the Chloe Dao Boutique (formerly Lot 8 boutique), signature retail location for Project Runway 2 winner and Houston native, Chloe Dao. These and other chic Houston shops exude Texas charm, flash the hottest fashions and do it without the LA and New York price tags.

Do you have any idea how many pairs of shoes you can pack into a Learjet 35?

Vibrant Cultural Scene

With a continued emphasis on art and culture, Houston has positioned itself among the nation’s leaders in refined leisure. That’s right – they don’t just dish out BBQ and lasso steer, although they still do both of those things very well, ya’ll.

Seating close to 1,300 in its live performance venues, Houston’s downtown theatre district ranks second in this regard only to New York City. It is one of only five cities that serve as a permanent home to professional ballet (Houston Ballet), opera (Houston Grand Opera) and music (Houston Symphony Orchestra) companies. Similarly impressive, the Houston museum district houses several notable establishments, attracting millions of patrons every year.

Lavish Accommodations

Let’s face it, if you’re going to charter a jet to Houston you’re going to need a quick rundown of the nicest hotels in the city. Fear not – we’ve got it covered.

Try the St Regis or the Hotel Granduca in the exclusive River Oaks area. Tucked away from the bustle of the city’s major metro area, these high-end hotels are located close to some of Houston’s best shopping and tourist attractions. However, if you’re looking to experience the heart of the city, consider the classically elegant Four Seasons, located in Houston’s energetic downtown area.

Getting There

Charter a plane to Houston and see it all for yourself. Choose from a number of local airports like Ellington Airport (EFG), Sugar Land Regional Airport (SGR) and William P. Hobby (HOU), located at different points across the city.

Private Jet Travel – Black in the Corporate Balance Sheet

September 14th, 2012 by

Companies have many responsibilities. They have to stay competitive within their respective markets, provide steady pay for their employees, create incentive programs to retain hard workers, cover their liabilities, and produce excess revenue. It is a complex balancing act that is constantly scrutinized.

Since the bailouts of 2009, company spending has never before been under such close observation. With news reports vilifying the extravagance of company events, bonuses, and other incentives that dwarf average American expectations, public outrage is inevitable. Public outrage leads to bad publicity, and bad publicity leads to lower profit margins.

As with all corporate spending, private jet charters fell under the public microscope. Inquiries into executive travel via charter flight versus commercial business class began to surface. Viewed by many as an unnecessary luxury, companies had to explain the benefits of spending in private air travel. Speed and convenience – the obvious answers – were not softening critics to the issue.

Of those cited, one of the most important advantages of private flights over commercial travel for businesses became privacy.

Private travelers spend less time passing through security checks and can board their aircraft directly, allowing them to focus more time and energy on work. While in flight, the quieter atmosphere provides an opportunity to conduct business without interruption. The entire equation leads to increased productivity.

Perhaps most importantly, private flyers can reach their destination undetected by the prying eyes of others. News can greatly affect financial markets and the overall value companies hold in those markets. On January 17th, 2011 it was reported that Steve Jobs was going to take a leave of absence due to falling ill. Forbes reported that Apple stock dropped 8-10% in value overnight. Information about company leaders in particular is highly sensitive and can have direct financial consequences.

The privacy offered by chartered aircraft can prevent this type information from reaching the media at inopportune times. A merger or acquisition, for example, should transpire with the utmost confidentiality to prevent changes in the involved companies’ valuations. Many business meetings, events, and incentive programs require such privacy to keep companies stable until news can be disseminated to the public at the appropriate time, through preferred channels.

To help further illustrate the financial importance of business travel, the U.S. Travel Association put together a U.S. Travel Answer Sheet detailing statistics and facts about the impact the travel industry has on the US economy. Highlighted in this answer sheet is a study conducted by Oxford Economics USA, which reported that:

“For every dollar invested in business travel, companies realize $12.50 in incremental revenue and $3.80 in new profits. Curbing business travel can also reduce a company’s profits for years.”(USTravel.org)

According to this study, business travel – private travel being no exception – can lead to greater long-term profits.

Though often under scrutiny, executive travel is an essential aspect of business operations. Private travel in the corporate sector may lead to public inquiry, but companies maintain that its unrivaled privacy and lasting economic boon will always be worth the upfront cost.

Three Clever Ways to Convince Your Spouse to Fly Private

September 12th, 2012 by

Let’s face it – we love our significant others, but sometimes we need to employ harmless, mental tactics to groove them toward mutual relationship happiness. These measures are always in their best interest, of course, as well as ours. Such are the building blocks of love!

To that end, the next time your spouse says something horrifying like, ‘Maybe we should just fly commercial this time…’ apply these three simple methods and get yourself back in the charter club without a messy debate:

Well, There’s Always Next Year…

Never underestimate the power of missed opportunity. Get online and research an event or two occurring around the day you’re planning on flying to your destination. Find a concert, gallery opening, sporting event, wine tasting – whatever – that would happen to take place right before your arrival, should you have to fly commercial. ‘Too bad…’, you’ll say. ‘I guess we’re going to miss the car show that weekend.’ If you strum the right chord, they’ll crack.

It’s All About You, Honey!

It’s not that you don’t want every trip together to be a special event, but let’s be honest – sometimes a little deftly-placed extra romance can go a long way. Tell her that you want this trip to be all about the two of you, without extra hassle. Point out how flying private will allot you some much needed alone time. Just make sure to pack her favorite champagne and edibles, and you’re off. Instant intimacy at 15,000ft!

Reverse Psychology

Agree that maybe this time you should just take a commercial airline, and that it certainly is a sensible approach. However, if you aren’t flying private, you’ll need to of course begin visualizing your limited wardrobe in order to avoid annoying bag checks.  You should also book immediately and keep an eye out for discrete seat changes down the road so you don’t end up sitting apart, flanked by screaming babies. It’s all true, just make sure to mention it early and often, then when the time is right, casually suggest chartering you own flight. Fish in a barrel!

Enjoy your flight!

US Open Tennis

September 7th, 2012 by

New York City becomes the center of the tennis world this weekend with the conclusion of the US Open in Flushing Meadows Park.

Though the sport bid a tearful goodbye to one of its greatest American players in Andy Roddick this past week, the action will play on starting at 11am on Saturday, featuring back-to-back semi-final games. Olympic champion Andy Murray squares off with Wimbledon runner-up Tomas Berdych in the first semi, immediately followed by reigning champion Novak Djokovic against number four seed David Ferrer.

Flushing Meadows Park is located mere minutes away from both major NYC airports, LaGuardia International (LGA) and JFK (JFK).

evoJets June Jetiquette Tip

June 28th, 2012 by

Though many passengers fail to realize it, the generally accepted gratuity etiquette of private jet travel is in line with that of most luxury services. As such, our June Jettiquette Tip is simply – remember to tip your pilot and crew.

When checking in at a hotel, it is customary to offer your valet and luggage attendant a tip, as you would a driver after arriving at your destination or a waiter after a meal. In this same refined acknowledgment of high-quality service, your pilot and his/her crew should be extended the same courtesy. While amount and nature of the tip is wholly personal, many private flyers simply do not think to offer any form of gratuity at all.

So, the next time you experience exceptional service on a charter flight, remember this evoJets Jettiquette Tip and make sure to take care of your pilot and crew.

evoJets Introduces Seven New Aircraft

March 15th, 2012 by

evoJets Charter has recently added new aircraft to our website! As new aircraft become available on the market and through our partners, evoJets is updating aircraft pages to help keep our customers informed. The new list of aircraft includes the King Air 100 and King Air 300, the Piper Cheyenne, Piper Meridian, and the Piper Matrix, the Diamond D-Jet, and the Cirrus Vision.
The King Air 100 and King Air 300 are turboprop aircraft, and seat six to seven and seven to eight passengers, respectively. They are part of the Beech King Air family and offer passengers luxurious and spacious interiors with a variety of amenities which make for a highly comfortable and enjoyable flight.
The Piper Cheyenne, Meridian, and Matrix are also turboprop aircraft, and all seat six to eight passengers. They are powerful but comfortable aircraft for short to medium range flights. The latest edition of the Cheyenne has become Piper’s luxury flagship and is also the largest aircraft ever made by Piper. It, as well as the Piper Meridian, provides a pressurized, air-conditioned cabin environment with comfortable seating similar to that found in more expensive planes. The Piper Matrix is an unpressurized but no-less-comfortable aircraft offering travelers luxurious space to stretch out and enjoy their trip.
The Diamond D-Jet is a very light jet (VLJ) which features a luxurious cabin and the latest in cockpit and powerplant technology. And the Cirrus Vision is a single-engine, low-wing, very light jet aircraft, which is comparable to the Diamond D-Jet in size and class. Both aircraft have comfortable seating for four to five passengers and will whisk you away in typical evoJets style!

evoJets Introduces Two New Aircraft Categories

February 27th, 2012 by

evoJets Charter has recently added two new aircraft categories to our website. Compact Light Jets and Business Airliners can be found by visiting the “Aircraft” section of the site.

The compact light jets currently available through evoJets include the Phenom 100, Citation Mustang, Honda Jet, and the Eclipse 500. These aircraft also referred to as Very Light Jets (VLJs), are small light aircraft that typically hold a small group of 4 or 5 passengers comfortably. They have been described as the “sports cars of aviation” and are best employed for short flights of 300 to 500. The compact light jets are a fairly new category of aircraft, and thus are equipped with the very latest in jet engine technology which delivers the speed, quality, and fuel efficiency that allow for a more cost effective means of private jet travel.

The business airliners category currently includes the Dornier 328 and the Boeing BBJ. They are larger than heavy jets, comparable in size to commercial airliner aircraft, but with different interior configurations. Most of these aircraft can accommodate anywhere from 28 to 120 passengers, or heavy loads of cargo, and are best suited for medium to long-range flights. These aircraft offer travelers pressurized passenger cabins which may be configured in a variety of ways, sometimes featuring multiple berths and lavatories, a gym, shower, meeting room, and more. The cabins of business airliners can also be laid out to maximize passenger capacity, with a layout more like a commercial airliner.

Hot Spots for July 4th

December 1st, 2011 by

July 4th weekend, a weekend that many can relate to being a well deserved vacation period to spend with their family and friends continues to be one of the busiest weeks for evoJets. Our clients, being more excited than ever have planned to visit some of the hottest spots in the world in celebration of the main patriotic holiday in the country.

Approximately 1.56 million Americans are likely to travel by air over the holiday weekend, that’s up 8.2 percent from last year alone ! Undoubtedly, evoJets has felt this incline in private jet travel more so than ever. Some of these spectacular places include both relaxing and luxurious towns such as Aspen, CO.

Aspen, celebrates Independence Day with a whimsical twist. Approximately 20,000 local residents and visitors come together to honor the nation’s birthday in true American style. Festivities include a parade, U.S. Airforce jet flyby, concerts, a kid’s bicycle rodeo, and spectacular fireworks on Aspen Golf Course.

Our personal favorite over at evoJets would have to be none other than Nantucket ! Flying our clients out multiple times a year we have certainly heard multiple stories of the endless amenities this treasure of a town has to offer. There are lot of things happening on Nantucket; from family BBQ’s, day on island beaches, Town sponsored fireworks, and my personal favorite – The Norman Rockwellesc water fight on Main Street that includes dueling fire trucks, face painting, watermelon eating, kids bike parade and so much more.

If you’re looking for something on the warmer side Harbour Island is that place for you ! Harbour Island in the Bahamas has been voted online as the most tranquil and relaxed destination to get away to. Whether people will be flying in private or sailing up to the cost on their private yacht you can certainly expect July 4th weekend to be one of the busiest weeks on the Island.

We at evoJets want to wish everyone a happy 4th of July weekend, and would like to thank our clients for always helping us stay one step ahead on the best places to go. We look forward to hearing everyone’s unique stories coming back from vacation getaway! Now that evoJets has shared some of the most exciting experiences with you, it’s now your turn.
